The BERING Slim Solar collection is powered by the sun, as its energy source is sustainable and infinitely available: light. The watch can harness not only sunlight, but any kind of light, which is converted into electrical energy by the solar cell under the dial and stored in a rechargeable secondary battery. Consequently, no battery change is required as in traditional quartz watches.

Once fully charged, the watch has a power reserve that allows it to run for 6 to 12 months, even if stored in complete darkness during this time. This is made possible by BERING's innovative solar movement. The minimalistic BERING watch features a scratch-resistant and flat sapphire crystal with a grey sunray dial. The glamorous case is made of the finest, silver IP-plated stainless steel (316l), measuring 9 mm in width and 39 mm in diameter. The strap is also crafted from the same high-quality, grey IP-plated stainless steel (316l), with a length of 185 mm and a width of 20 mm. The watch is waterproof up to 10 ATM / 100 metres, protecting it from rain, water splashes, showers, and swimming.

BERING's sapphire crystal is the third hardest transparent material after moissanite and diamonds, ensuring an unrestricted view of the dial and exceptional scratch resistance. In contrast, mineral glass, a common material in the watch industry, is less resistant and more susceptible to scratches. BERING exclusively uses sapphire glass in its timepieces.

When stored in complete darkness, the watch typically runs for 6 months on a full charge until the next charge is necessary. This battery life can be extended when the watch is exposed to light in between. The watch needs to be in the sun for about 24 hours to be fully charged. If charged with sunlight, it should not be left on the dashboard of a car, as the temperature can get extremely high.

The watch has a mechanism that indicates when the battery is only weakly charged. In this case, the second hand will move in "two-second steps," and the clock will run for another 3 days in this "two-second cycle" before needing to be recharged. Unlike traditional quartz watches, the battery in the BERING Slim Solar collection does not need to be replaced regularly.
